Our roots lie in the bazaars of Iran; our home is Maastricht. We connect heritage with a contemporary outlook: from timeless classics to quiet, modern pieces ready for everyday use. Advice, maintenance and restoration — all arranged under one roof.

Two brothers, four generations of craftsmanship
From Tehran to Maastricht: Ilia and Sharam continue what their family has hand-knotted for four generations.
Ilia Fathi
Ilia grew up among rugs and knotters, in a family that has known the craft intimately for four generations. Since the gallery in Maastricht opened its doors, he has carried forward the tradition that began in Tehran and found its way, via Maasmechelen, to Limburg. Ilia is the specialist behind the cleaning, restoration and aftercare of every rug — using traditional techniques, without aggressive chemicals, and with an eye for the character of each piece.
